Featherweight, weatherproof daypack.

You know the days when you are travelling and find yourself in need of some additional storage. You know a backpack would be too much, but carrying it by hand is not convenient either. The Origami Sling is a featherweight storage solution that blends with every outfit and expands from flat up to 1.5 litres.

A large expandable main compartment is sealed with dual-size 3 YYK reversed-coil zipper pulls with Alcantara finish. The back pocket sits flat between the lining and perfectly holds a smartphone.

The outer fabric is made from recycled Cordura 2L waterproof 80 denier nylon, whilst the inside is made from upcycled hot-air balloon nylon ripstop.

    • Laminated main and back pocket zippertrack to reduce bulk.

    • Laser cutting gives a 3 mm seam allowance and absolute accuracy.

    • Minimal reflective black Anomaly logo on the front.

    • Only 22 units will ever be made in this specification. Each one is individually labelled on the inside.

Inspired by shopping bags and folding paper.

The Origami Sling’s shape takes major inspiration from the plastic shopping bags most of us use every day. Folded flat, it takes up virtually any space, yet can expand to fit a lot of groceries. The shape principle applies to the Origami Sling, as it folds flat against the body yet expands to a capacity of 1.5 litres when needed. Because of its fold lines, the bag will also shape itself to the items inside, keeping bulk to a minimum.

 

Minimalistic at heart, refined with the best materials.

Made from only 6 fabric pattern pieces and 18 parts in total, the Origami Sling is the pinnacle of refining an idea. Constructed from extremely durable, waterproof, recycled Cordura and upcycled hot-air balloon nylon ripstop, it weighs only 48 grams and is the lightest bag possible for its size and durability.

 

No bulk really means no bulk.

During the manufacturing setup, we developed construction methods that combine to create a textile product with only one perceivable seam, located away from use areas. Both zippers are bonded instead of stitched, reinforced with bartacks, and the back pocket cleverly utilises the space between the lining without exposing any seams.
